The work went very well and I am very happy with K&S Remodeling. They are a quality contractor, take pride in their work, and always support the customer. Their communication was top notch - I never had to wonder what was happening or what/when something was to occur.

K & S Remodeling built and finished a full bathroom. Shawn Palme did an amazing job with the bathroom. I cannot recommend him enough!! Truly a 10 out of 10!!! Some of what I very much appreciate about him include his attention to detail, his communication (daily), and his work ethic. He managed the project schedule and budget like the pro he is - always punctual, always cleaned up the site before he left for the day, and made sure I knew what to expect at each and every step. He had to correct a previous contractor's framing, add more, and add drywall to the walls and ceiling plus install the fixtures. His finishing is flawless. No drywall seams anywhere in the bath can be detected at all, even when trying to find them! It's as if the walls went up in one piece!! Everything about the project is typical Shawn - perfect.

We wanted new kitchen appliances and countertops which required custom cabinet work. The process was the least stressful of any project we have ever done. Shawn and Michelle worked very well together to make a streamlined plan with the least disruption possible. Very creative team with lots of awesome ideas, within our budget. All work areas were left cleaner than he found them. Everything was explained in great detail and in the written contract. Shawn went above and beyond my expectations. I would absolutely hire again.

Remove kitchen sink/faucet/disposal and replace with new sink/faucet/disposal I had purchased. An excellent experience. The existing sink was a double-basin cast iron drop-in sink. Too heavy for me to even consider doing the project myself. When I described the project to K&S Remodeling before hiring them, Shawn provided excellent advice on a vendor (not affiliated with him) to consider for purchasing my new sink, faucet, and disposal and what characteristics to look for. Shawn is highly experienced and knows what he is talking about. He arrived at my house at the agreed upon time. After removing the old sink, he completely removed the old caulk from the countertop where the rim of the old sink had rested. Not an easy task. The remaining installation also went very well. He thoroughly cleaned up the area when finished and hauled away the old sink/faucet/disposal and all the packaging from the new items.

Finishing Basement
My White Bear Lake home had an unfinished basement. I reached out to several top-rated Angie's list basement remodeling/finishing candidates. Shawn from K&S was one of the first to get back to me. From day one, Shawn was entirely transparent and forthright about the project. My budget was not endless. He gave me no-nonsense evaluations of how far we could take the project under the budget allotted. We explored a few different options for how to proceed. Shawn arrived promptly every day of the job. His attention to detail and quality of work were as excellent as any contractor I've worked with. He identified practical ways of addressing complex parts of the project. I especially appreciated Shawn's detailed daily summaries of the progress made. If you're an aspiring handyman like myself, you'll find Shawn's open communication style refreshing. He's more than happy to share how something is done, in as much detail as you'd like. Shawn didn't ask for payment until the contract terms were fulfilled. As qualified as he is, he wasn't at all above wiping the main level floor clean as he wrapped up each day. Reliable, transparent, professional and experienced are terms I would associate with K&S. I would not hesitate to work with K&S again on future projects.

I needed a new thermostat, 5 smoke detectors installed and a garage door/opener fixed.
The service Shawn provided to me was outstanding. I called him in a panic on a very cold day when my garage door wouldn't shut. He was to my home within 2 hours and had it fixed quickly and efficiently, he had all of the parts and tools on hand so I didn't have to wait. I have not had any issues since he took care of the problem. He was great in explaining the problem and educating me on how to avoid the issue in the future with proper care and maintenance. On a separate day, I had him install a new thermostat and 5 smoke detectors and everything works great. I couldn't be happier with his work and he will always be my go-to handyman/contractor for all of my home needs. Highly recommend.
